Seattle mechanaphile has had sex with 700 cars

A story in The Mirror provides details of Edward Smith's love life as a mechanaphile:

"A man who has had sex with over 700 cars has revealed how he had his first physical experience of car love with a Volkswagen Beetle.

"Edward Smith, 63, told Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden on This Morning how he was “tempted one night to step outside” to make love to the neighbour’s car as a young teen, having first become attracted to cars in 1965.

". . .Edward is sexually attracted to machines – and as well as having sex with cars, has also had a relationship with a helicopter and planes, claiming they are all better than women.

Ireland released four new postage stamps today: Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Sonic, and Mario.  The stamps were created by a Dublin-graphics studio, Zinc Design Consultants.

Some of my favorite Dead shows were from the dark time after Brent died and Bruce Hornsby joined the band for a year and a half. Things got even better when Branford Marsalis came along. He played many shows with them around that same period.

Shoe Cameras in Japan (clandestine up-skirt cameras)

Police in Japan's Kyoto Prefecture raided a shoe manufacturer in July and commandeered a list of about 1,500 purchasers of the company's signature "tosatsu's"—shoes with built-in cameras. Investigators have begun visiting the purchasers at home to ask that they hand in the shoes (but, out of fairness, said they would not cause trouble for customers who could produce a legitimate reason for needing to take photographs and video by pointing their shoe at something). (The seller was charged with "aiding voyeurism" and fined the equivalent of about $4,500 under a nuisance-prevention law.) —From United Press International, 9-23-2014
