The Nuge To Fellow NRAers "Let's Get Hardcore!"

Click the title for a link to the AP story on Ted Nugent's NRA speech.

"I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."

I think that it's important to make a distinction between Mr Nugent's politics and his art. I don't think there's any credible argument against his creative contributions in the twentieth century. To say that he's seminal is half the story. His music speaks to us all - it brings us together around the campfire, beakons us to the dancefloor and makes all of those special American moments special-er. If Mr Nugent wants the bad guys dead, I think we should hear him out. He has never failed us before.

Dear Anonymous:

Honestly, I am barely familiar with the music of Ted Nugent. However, I'll take your word for his place in the pantheon and how much he means to the public.

I am not necessarily against taking out the bad guys; I just differ with you and The Nuge as to whether an arrest, indictment, and trial should occur beforehand.

I also wonder a little about the NRA (duh). You'd think they might try to muzzle this knucklehead whether they agree with him or not!

They might want to slap one on you too!

Yours,

Jack Brummet

You can't muzzle the anonymous majority, Mr Brummet.

Knucklehead or not, Mr Nugent is an important man. He controls minds. He leads with ideas as well as power chords.

You sit in your comfortable blog, while Mr Nugent is out making things happen - killing things that need to die: slaying the sacred cows that clog the streams of progress.

I suggest that you let Mr Nugent into your heart. I advise purchasing Double Live Gonzo, rolling a number, and taking communion.

So you're saying The Nuge is like Jesus? You are prettty skeptical, but hey, who knows: they might be right? The Nuge...I should agree with him and hedge my bets. Ten years from now-who knows-The Nuge could be Presidenr???
